My name is Milo, and I'm a drumoholic.
I started playing drums at the age of 13, in my hometown of Helsingborg, Sweden. If my calculations are correct (and they rarely are), this means I've been playing drums for about 94 years...although I'm only in my late 20's, so I don't see how that would be possible. Thankyou, I'll be here all night.
Grew up influenced by the grunge era and drummers like Matt Cameron (Soundgarden, Pearl Jam), but also got very influenced by the passionate and unconventional playing style of Steve Gadd.
John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) has always been a big favourite on top of that, and Cindy Blackman (Lenny Kravitz) as well.
My style is heavily influenced by these drummers, which means that my style is boomy, groovy and simplistic (less is more).
Moved to London in the early 2000's to join UK rock band Revere. Toured England and Scotland before I moved back to Sweden to play drums with indie rock act Swimfaster Godwhispers (South American Shoreline) and Lyla (PON Records). Toured Scandinavia, UK and Europe before I moved back to London again. This time to join post rockers Years Of Rice And Salt (Future Recordings).
I've now been living in London since 2007.
I currently play in two bands as a permanent member. Epic post rockers 'Years Of Rice And Salt' (Future Recordings) and melodic folk pop rockers Larches.
As you can see, I am dead-sexy.

OBSERVE: I'm currently porting all my videos to Vimeo instead, more videos will be available soon, and in way better quality!
AUDIO
Years Of Rice And Salt (Future Recordings) is mainly post rock with folk music influenses. The following two songs are from the debut EP 'Service Bell', which was actually recorded and mixed by myself.
Splendid Isolation - Service Bell (2009) - Full Version
Song 1
Occasional Flashes of Warmth - Service Bell (2009) - Full Version
Song 2
Swimfaster Godwhispers (South American Shoreline) is a Swedish indie rock band. The first song required much more busy drumming as the guitars, bass and keyboards were playing a unison type riff. Lot more fills and groove in this track than the above examples. Very Matt Cameron-ish. The second song sums up my playing style. It's a steady beat with accents here and there, as well as a switch in beats (in the end part) to keep it interesting.
Break Away - Life as Promised in our Early Days, Season One (2007) - Sample
Song 3
The Blueprints Part II - Life as Promised in our Early Days, Season One (2007) - Full Version
Song 4
Lyla (PON Records) is a pop/rock band influenced by the brit pop wave. This sample is just the verse part, a heavy groovy beat to complement the main guitar riff. Rough mix from the recording session.
Lyla - Rolling Stone - Rolling Stone (Single) (2006) - Sample
Song 5
Revere is a London-based melancholic rock outfit that I played and toured with several years ago. Just added this as an interesting sample. It was a very long time ago, and the quality isn't that great. Recorded it straight from the radio when it aired. Added almost the complete song, mainly because there are some interesting beats going on.
Revere - Out Of My Depth - Live at the BBC (2002) - Sample
Song 6
I've been using Ludwig Drums, Zildjian Cymbals, Vic Firth Sticks and Remo Heads since I was a young girl in the 1920's. Well maybe not, but it's what I use nowadays.
Ludwig Super Classic Drums (1959), 22"x14", 12"x9" and 16"x16"
Ludwig Black Beauty Snare Drum, 14"x6.5"
Ludwig Bronze Snare, 14"x5"
Zildjian K Custom Dark HiHats, 14"
Zildjian K Constantinople Crash, 18"
Zildjian Avedis Sweet Ride, 21"
Zildjian A Custom Crash, 16"
In addition to the main setup, I use Vic Firth X5A sticks, Vic Firth WB Brushes and Vic Firth Rutes. I also have an assortment of other cymbals and drum sizes for specific styles, but this is my main setup.
Since 2009, I've been using Bigdog Hardware exclusively, and Protection Racket cases.
Throughout the years I've had several endorsement deals, and currently (as of May 2009) I'm endorsed by Vic Firth sticks and in the process of getting a couple of new endorsers. More info to come.

Mostly done live work and session stuff as a ghost drummer, so the official discography isn't very long. The inofficial discography is much more impressive.
Other bands and artists I've performed with includes TCB Band (Elvis tribute band), The Sounds (pop/rock), Stones Cry Out (rock), Östen Warnerbring (jazz), Largo (americana/country), etc.
I'm currently looking for session gigs, tour gigs and every other kind of gig. I'm often available on short notice, so just give me a call or send me an e-mail (contact information can be found at the bottom of the page).
If you're interested in working with me...PLEASE have some form of insight regarding your own level and ambition. Not saying I'm above anyone, but it's been a long time since I did the amateur scene and I'd like to keep it that way. Please DON'T contact me if your band:
- doesn't have management, or
- is planning to spend 6 months in the rehearsal studio, or
- doesn't have a label/record deal/publishing deal/any kind of deal, or
- isn't absolutely mind blowingly amazing
This way we save a lot of time. If your band fits in to AT LEAST ONE of the requirements above, please contact me. This is just a way to filter through the loads of offers you get as a drummer in London.
